More an area than a town, and the most expansive in the county

Tetonia, Idaho is really more of an area than a town, more so than the other cities in Teton Valley. There is however a small town with a gas station, quaint restaurant and bar. In terms of areas, the Tetonia area is the most expansive in the county, and offers some of the very best Teton views.

If it has a Tetonia address you can almost count on a Teton view. Services are limited, but it is a short drive to town.

The four areas of Tetonia

The Tetonia area covers more ground than any other in Teton County. Here is how local buyers divide it.

South of Tetonia

Holds the greatest number of communities and developments, likely because of its proximity to Driggs and skiing at Grand Targhee. The area begins about four miles north of Driggs and runs all the way to the small town of Tetonia. Just west of Highway 33 is Packsaddle Road; on the other side you find some of the best known developments in the valley, including Trout’s Ranch, one of the original high-end luxury subdivisions with lots from 2.5 to 20 acres.

Communities: Los Pinos, Leigh Creek Estates, Daydream Ranch, D Diamond Ranch, Silver Dollar Ranch, Trout’s Ranch, Wild Horse Ranch, Wydaho, Perfect Drift, Stillwater Ranch, Teton Rancheros.

North of Tetonia

Quite rural, though it holds a few communities. As you reach the old Felt townsite, nothing more than a few residential properties built around a farm operation, you find more. Beyond Felt is mostly vast farm ground, with one last subdivision at the county line for those looking for the ultimate views and privacy.

Communities: Spring Hollow Ranch, Sky View Ranch, North End Ranches, Black Pine, Majestic Mountain Ranch.

West of Tetonia

Mostly vast farm ground, with a few rural subdivisions. Most noteworthy is Packsaddle Creek Estates, unique because it was the very first development in Teton Valley. Its county-maintained roads intertwine through the western slopes of the Big Hole range with some of the most dramatic Teton views overlooking the valley.

Communities: Packsaddle Creek Estates, West Ridge Ranch.

East of Tetonia

Up to the Wyoming state line, a variety of unique subdivisions intertwined with North and South Leigh Creek, two of the larger tributaries to the Teton River. Many offer privacy among towering cottonwoods and clear creeks.

Communities: North Leigh Creek Ranch, South Leigh Creek Ranch, Leigh Meadows.
